The government wants a nanny state

It's life itself that needs rebalancing. Parents working 2 & 3 jobs, not enough time to bring up kids.We all take the easy route that gives us more time because 'time' is so precious now and we don't have a lot of it. Kids are left to make their own decisions on what they eat.

Oh yeah...minister for hunger. . .

Nothing to do with the Government let kids be kids you are only young once

Let kids be kids! Let them run round, play in the park, climb trees. Fresh air and exercise is vitally important, but also helps children learn to manage risk and gain confidence. So instead of pumping money into research etc, how about build some amazing play areas?

We need to put children's welfare 1st. That means telling parents how it is. Their feelings don't super-seed the states obligation to protect children. Parents are either ignorant, lazy, selfish or down right negligent. This government needs to start prosecuting offenders.

They were told what the problem was years ago....crapparenting and a lack of exercise in schools. Get kids moving again....especially the fat ones!

Dont let food industry lobby governments or publish research promoting their product without declaring their interest in large font on pge 1

Nothing to do with the government, proper parenting, go for family walks and other outdoor activities.

Focus on portion sizes so children do not pig out!!

That’s the problem these days , this country is too soft . Let’s wrap the fat kids in cotton wall because their parents can’t be bothered with them

The government needs to stop trying to social engineer people. All governments.

I think the only thing the government should be doing is consulting with the supermarkets and manufacturers and lowering the cost of healthy food its beneficial to us all,as a sufferer of renal failure it’s imperative I eat healthy but it’s bloody expensive

Put the electronics down and play sports and change the school day so kids are NOT sitting on their A*! for 2-3 hours after they eat food filled w/sodium & carbs that turn to FAT IF the body isn’t burning those carbs within 20-30 minutes after consumption. It’s a basic MATH.

What's wrong with a burger?

No, parents need to control what their children eat. It’s not up to government to do that for them

Parents NOT the government needs to focus on their own children.

Do you see what happens when you start relying in government for everything. You start thinking the government is the answer to everything. Be grown ups and raise your own children!!

No sugar, no wheat.
