The Alaska State Fair announced its first batch of entertainment options for the 2023 fair on Thursday, headlined by Megadeth, Blues Traveler and Flogging Molly.
The fair also announced Christian pop duo For King & Country, country rockers Turnpike Troubadours and Grammy-nominated artist Noah Cyrus are scheduled to appear at the 2023 fair, set to run Aug. 18-Sept 4.Thrash metal pioneers Megadeth hit the scene in 1985 and established themselves as a favorite for nearly 40 years. They are scheduled to perform Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m., with
priced at $69 for reserved and $59 for lawn seating. Fair admission is an additional $10 with purchase of a concert ticket.Blues Traveler had major hits in 1994 with “Run-Around” and “Hook,” with a sound driven by frontman John Popper’s harmonica. Blues Traveler is set to play Thursday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.Celtic punk rockers Flogging Molly started out as the house band at famed Los Angeles pub Molly Malone’s and evolved into a major national act. Flogging Molly is scheduled to play Friday, Aug.
