For Abrams, it was important to have this real product mix, though she still had her proclivities. “I leaned a lot more into Y2K, menswear, and workwear,” says Abrams. “I also wanted to skew to a younger market; The [younger] generation really cares about vintage and sustainability.

Perhaps better than the vintage treasures to be discovered, however, was what people wore to browse the booths; Many patrons showed up in their best vintage ensembles. Abrams—who wore a fabulous 1971 Missoni caftan—says the affair is always an opportunity for shoppers to express their personal style and meet like-minded fashion lovers. “I call it a big vintage party: It’s an opportunity to celebrate yourself,” she says.
