Movie attendance has plummeted compared to 2019, the last full year before the pandemic. AMC is saddled with about $10 billion in debt and, like other chains, is laboring to stay solvent.This isn’t wholly new; some exhibitors, including AMC, have experimented with higher price tickets for Hollywood blockbusters.

LOL I'll just wait for streaming. Movie theater experience is trash these days and all companies like AMC are prepared to offer are reclining seats and $10 nachos.

They should charge less for the seats up front but not more for the best seats. The prices are already high. I go to AMCTheatres all the time and nobody sits in those seats. Everyone is in the middle or back. Anyone can buy a cheaper ticket then move seats.

I’m an era with so much uncertainty about going to the cinema due to endless streaming services on all our devices, a global pandemic and a serious lack of originality in regards to what is actually playing at a theatre, this is one of the stupidest ideas they could have devised.
