John Lydon's life away from controversial limelight as carer to wife of 45 years

Sex Pistols icon John Lydon is competing to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision song contest, and will feature on tonight's Late Late Show Eurosong Special.

While he has found international fame, his Irish roots run deep, and we're looking back on the creative's life in and out of the limelight.He was born in the UK to Irish parents, who had ventured to England in search of work. He grew up in Holloway, North London as the oldest child of three brothers.

His love and family life John married the love of his life Nora Maier Forster, a German publishing heiress, in 1979, and the couple have enjoyed almost 45 years of married life together. “It is dedicated to everyone going through tough times on the journey of life, with the person they care for the most," he said of the song, according to The Irish Mirror.He previously shared on Good Morning Britain that the secret to their long-lasting marriage is simple - they are not afraid to argue.
