, the unnamed project was being developed under the codename Titanfall Legends and set in the same universe as Respawn's Titanfall and Apex games. Not much is known about the game, aside from it having been in early development under the helm of game designer Mohammad Alavi until early 2022 — EA had apparently hinted at it several times.
According to Bloomberg's sources, around 50 developers were working on the project at Respawn, and EA has informed them that new positions will be sought for them within the company, but severance packages and layoffs will be handed out if relevant positions can't be found. This news comes alongside a swathe of changes at EA following its quarterly financials earlier this week, which saw Industrial Toys fold after the Battlefield and Apex Legends mobile games were cancelled.
