Employers have been urged to look at recruiting more young people as the unemployment rate remains low.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show the unemployment rate stood at 4.4 per cent in January, unchanged compared to December. This was also down from a level of 4.9 per cent twelve months ago. The seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed fell by 800 in January, and fell by 10,300 in the past 12 months.
