Free Now, the taxi-hailing platform, has cancelled its sponsorship of The Tommy Tiernan Show on RTÉ following a joke the presenter made about taxi drivers and Dublin Zoo.
The joke, which was made by Tiernan at a stand-up comedy gig in Vicar Street in Dublin, prompted Emer O’Neill, an RTÉ presenter, to walk out. She has since said she considered the joke to be “overtly racist”. “As a recent sponsor of The Tommy Tiernan Show on RTÉ, we were disappointed about the comments made at his Vicar Street gig regarding taxi drivers,” Free Now said in a statement to the Business Post.
🙄🙄🙄🙄.
The joke is FreeNow_IE

Pathetic
Farcical Tommy has been controversial since the late late show days. Utter madness don't go to events that are known to be offensive to some if you are likely to get offended
What was the joke?
Absolutely ridiculous we just want to build people up in this country then try to destroy them.
is free now the worst named company ever in the history of naming companys?!!?
I guess it’s free now for other sponsors
I’d say FreeNow_IE were just looking for a reason to jump ship they haven’t the money for sponsorship.
AarRogan Will they be charged €5?
Note to self: Never use Free Now.
Freedom of speech The elite are slowly growing bigger to shut us up Trying 😄
