Prosecutors are expected to announce Thursday whether charges will be brought in the fatal shooting on the set of the movie “Rust” in New Mexico

Investigators have examined how cast and crew handled safety on set, including how firearms were handled by the film’s armorer, first assistant director and Mr. Baldwin. Authorities haven’t said how live ammunition wound up on the set. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office turned over the results of its investigation to prosecutors in October and didn’t make any recommendations about potential charges.

Movies are a MAJOR source of $$$ for New Mexico, which is one of the poorest states and whose main natural resource is chile (the plant, not the meal), which is undoubtedly why this is taking so long.
