Daithi's weight loss after health scare 'I'm going to mind myself this year'

Dáithí O'Sé dropped two stone after becoming health conscious following a discovery that he had high cholesterol during a routine blood test.

"I promised myself that I wouldn’t do it this year. I want to keep my head in a good place because once your head is in a good place your body will follow. He said: "People said ‘You didn’t have it to lose it’, but they weren’t looking closely enough. My weight carries around my belly area and we sit down a lot on set on The Today Show.

Dáithí launched Benecol's new cholesterol awareness campaign, which aims to support heart health by encouraging people to take one step towards better health by having their cholesterol checked. He said: "Your whole outlook on life changes when you become a dad or a mom and you become focused on them. You have to remember that you need to be healthy too, if you are not healthy then that is no good."
