What do you think of the tweaks? TheLastOfUsHBO

is a beast of a game, running at roughly fifteen hours — and probably longer if you're a newbie, still getting used to the survival mechanics that helped it become such a unique success.

As with the rest of the series, episode one, “When You're Lost in the Darkness,” keeps quite strict fidelity to the, its 81 minutes of runtime covering around the first hour of gameplay. While the story is largely exact, smaller aspects of the plot are tweaked: Joel and Tess aren't looking for a stolen weapon cachet in the show but a car battery to leave the Boston Quarantine Zone in search of Joel's brother Tommy , though the double-crosser, Robert, is the same dude .

Whereas we're thrown straight into the brunt of the action in the game, playing as Joel's daughter Sarah as she awakens to a world in disarray, we spend some more time getting to know her in the show,, with around ten minutes of pre-outbreak normalcy. Otherwise, it's largely the same story, albeit given more flesh: it's Joel's birthday, she fixes his watch, they spend the evening together watching TV and then all hell breaks loose.
