New Kids on the Block’s Jonathan Knight recalls ‘pressure’ to hide sexuality

The singer claimed in Monday’s episode ofthat his manager had advised him not to “say anything” about being gay.

Knight was the first member of the boy band to leave, parting ways with Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Joey McIntyre and Jordan Knight in 1994.The group officially disbanded a few weeks later but ultimately reunited in 2008.

I am so proud of him for sharing his truth. I was such a huge fan back in the 80s and 90s and am so sad he went through that.

Impossible! That does not happen in the industry. It would be wrong.

These personal stories are so important in order to hopefully change this archaic way of doing business!! Some people obviously find the conversation uncomfortable!
