Howie Long not ready to retire from FOX: 'I started laughing 29 years ago and I haven’t stopped.'

The NFL Up Vote crew debates who faces more pressure on MNF between the Dallas Cowboys and TomIf a freshly retired NFL player were to transition into a media career, no one would be surprised. Current players today host their own podcasts or serve as contributors to network broadcasts.

"I’m not sure I could have been content with being average," Long told USA TODAY Sports by phone last month. "You want to make sure that you’re contributing to the standard that is pretty high for our show," Long said. "You want to make sure you’re living up to that." On the show, Bradshaw bellows. Johnson gesticulates. Michael Strahan, the former New York Giants defensive end turned television morning host, serenades. Host Curt Menefee does his best to hold everything together.

Long competes with Johnson for the prize of most football watched during the week, Richards said. When it comes to memory and recall, Bradshaw said Long has the greatest he's ever seen. "You try to relay that to your kids," Long said. "Time flies. I’m looking at our grandsons and granddaughter ... they'll be pulling out of the driveway soon."
