Paul Burrell has addressed Prince Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle as he and Lorraine Kelly discussed how the Duke of Sussex may not have become estranged with his family had he not married the American actress.
“It wouldn’t have happened,” he told Lorraine. “It wouldn’t have happened, for instance, if Harry married Chelsy Davy or Cressida Bonas. I don’t think all of this would have happened.” Paul’s comments about the Duke of Sussex come as the Royal Family brace themselves for the release of his tell-all memoir ‘Spare’ hitting shelves next week.
“The race element” to the couple’s relationship had been “jumped on straight away” by the British press, he tells the programme, adding that he had no idea how “bigoted” the UK media was until his wife and their relationship were thrust into the spotlight.
