due to the pandemic, 2022’s show is set to be a return to a full cast of music stars and an invited audience with a sprinkling of celebrities sharing their New Year resolutions.Joining the night’s proceedings in the round will be some of the biggest names from 2022 as well as long-established artists, all with a little musical help from the military.
Roland Gift, lead singer of Birmingham’s Fine Young Cannibals, will reprise some of his band’s biggest hits with Jools including Good Thing. Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny will see in 2023 in musical style and mark its 30th anniversary with stars including George Ezra, The Real Thing, Ruby Turner and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards
While singer-songwriter Gabrielle, who burst onto the scene in 1993 with her debut single “Dreams”, will sing in the new year on the turn of midnight. 70s soul group The Real Thing will perform a couple of their classic tunes including hit “You To Me Are Everything”.As always singer Ruby Turner will be adding her vocals to the New Year mix.
And if that wasn’t enough to get the party in full swing, then throw in the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards at midnight.The New Year’s Eve musical celebrations start on BBC Two at 11.30pm on Saturday 31 December and finish at 1.35am on New Year’s Day starting 2023 on a strong note.
