In 2005, after four RCMP officers were killed in a massacre near Mayerthorpe, Alta., Tyson sang the song at their funeral. “It was probably the best performance of the song I’ve ever done. There was so much emotion,” Tyson recalled three years later.
“Tyson decided the time had come to return to his first love — training horses in the ranch country of southern Alberta,” his website says.Ian & Sylvia perform in 1972.In 1986, Tyson married Twylla Dvorkin. The relationship caused a scandal, as Dvorkin was a teenager when the two met, and Tyson was over 40. They had a daughter, Adelita Rose, born in 1987. Dvorkin and Tyson divorced, officially, in 2008, some years after Dvorkin had left, The Globe and Mail reported in a 2008 profile.
