Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller set out to make a 'Spider-Man' movie no one had seen before. The end result was 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,' an animated film that grossed $138 million worldwide in 12 days.

SonyAnimation It should have made 5 times more than that though, if it was released one month later I think it would have stormed the box office!

They sure did it! I can't think of another movie that integrates good old comic book styles into the animation. Or another movie with different versions/spin-offs of the SAME character meeting and teaming up. Thank you philiplord and chrizmillr for delivering something new!

But Lucasfilm firing them from SOLO was still a good idea.
