Local residents will get to participate in the Central Newfoundland Kiwanis Musical Festival again this year. The public will be able to view the performances as the event is returning to in-person performance and adjudication for the first time since 2019 when these three nuns performed. CONTRIBUTEDOne of the Central region’s historical musical and performance cornerstone events is hoping to return to a more normal in-person setting this spring.
“Even though we did it virtually last year it was them doing a video, submitting that to us and it would be adjudicated, but the adjudicators weren’t on site,” he continued. “The only thing we could actually do in person was a highlight concert in the last couple of days, but even that was more condensed because of the restrictions.”
“They want the real experience … That’s what we’re hoping this in-person festival can bring back - that joy of being able to know that your are in the audience and being able to watch you.”Anyone in the Central/Grand Falls-Windsor region can participate in the music festival as long as they follow the requirements of the class they register for.
“We hope that these classes will bring even more interest and participation in the festival,” Oxford said in an emailed document.
