. “THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT TO SAY. Was trying to say ‘those Bug-A-Boos’ in reference to haters and doubters. Regardless of my intention, I understand the historical context of the term that came out of my mouth and I apologize.”
While praising Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, Griffin used the slur to reference his doubters. The clip went viral not long after that, leading to his apology. “People said that Jalen Hurts couldn’t get it done,” Griffin said. “He could not get break from the pocket, he’s not the quarterback of the future—I think he proved all those jiga---s wrong.”
The slur is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as “used as an insulting and contemptuous term for a Black person.”
Do I believe that’s what he meant to say? No. Hard to be praising Jalen Hurts then end up with that word. I will say this… the look on Steve Young’s face after he said it… he was ALL OF US🤦🏾♂️😂
RG III has been a Black Traitor for a long time now
How do you accidentally use a term like that? Please.
He’s not a very bright man.
So does he lose his job like everyone else that has screwed up and said something stupid?
Boy if he was white
70/30 an honest mistake, as that word is pretty, pretty bad.
theMMQB Still like him. He made an error. He’s only HUMAN.
Seems everything he says or tweets has a racial angle to it. Just a race baiter
I believe him that it’s not what he meant. Cut him some slack.
Imagine if Steve Young mistakenly uttered it. Career over. Apology tour begins. 🤡🤡🤡
Very lucky RGIII Anyone else fired immediately. 🤷♂️
I guess that settles the question of if ESPN has a delay or is totally live. 🙄
lucky he's black...if that was a white announcer, career over. His explanation makes sense, honest mistake
I forgive him no matter what he said and who he referenced. Just the kind of hillbilly I am.
