Former prime minister Julia Gillard delivered her infamous misogyny speech during House of Representatives question time at Parliament House on October 9, 2012. "I knew that it was a weighty speech, but I had no inkling it was going to travel beyond the parliament the way it has," she said. "This year's a really interesting one. I think it's a really diverse one and it speaks a lot to some of the really important parts of Australian culture and important events in Australian culture."

Isn’t she a man?

ABC is Australia's CuNNts

Pathetic as she accused the wrong man. Her inadequacies were blatant.

Julia Gillard, the embarrassment to us women? Yeah no thanks, she doesn't represent us well at all

It's just more Labor CRAP it's amazing that's the focus. Clearly labor busy building their story. What's important to Australians, do we get asked no? Its all political.

Gillard's speech was nothing but feigned outrage, but to be fair to her so was Tony Abbott's outrage over Peter Slipper comparing the appearance of jarred mollusks (?) to a woman's vulva.

Yawn. Activists playlist.

why are we still talking about this fkn garbage

JuliaGillard, the silly, conniving, self-centred trash-bag didn't even know what 'misogyny' meant. How does that win an award? One of the world's worst human beings. (& I nearly knocked her down the stairs at PH in 2012 - would have done the world a favour.) auspol alp

Regardless of your take on Gillard's speech, it is not a sound of Australia. auspol

She pulled the victim card to deflect from her failings. Just please stop.

Gillard’s Prime Ministership was disastrous. She was so despised by Australians that in the end she was thrown out by her own side in favour of Kevin O Lemon. And that speech, was written by a man. PERSPECTIVE

Why do the left hold their failed leaders, Whitlam, Keating and Gillard up there as demigods. Everyone knows, yet the left fail to acknowledge, the only reason for this speech was to misdirect media away from the failings of Peter Slipper to protect Labor’s tenuous government.

'Former prime minister Julia Gillard's famous misogyny speech in 2012 made waves when she first gave it' 😂😂😂😂😂 Yeah, overseas, but the local press ignored it cos they knew what it was. They only joined in after it went ignorantly viral. Do keep up.

Misogyny speech at number 10. What a thing for TonyAbbott to be remembered for! Brilliant

Beegees yes

Really? The misogyny speech was a political ploy to deflect the issue with Peter Slipper … yeah we remember her trying to protecting him - wasn’t he accused of sexual harassment by a fellow worker?

What did it cost Australia tax payers for gillard to get her new job after quitting parliament what was it $70 million donation ? Glad her renovations went ok

What changed since then?

Gillards famous misogynistic speech, protecting Peter Slipper while simultaneously throwing 88,000 single mothers and their children into abject poverty and creating a reward system in the family court to encourage vitriolic perjury. Does she hate women?

What about Gillard's hyperbowl? Epic! No one can claim our womyn lawyers aren't highly educated.

The famous speech defending a sexual abuser. Who can forget it?

It’s a good thing she’s out of politics so she can spend more time in the kitchen where she belongs

You mean, when Gillard lied and smeared other people to protect Peter Slipper?

Go the Bee Gees!

The alleged misogyny speech was a typical Labour distortion of facts. Was never an elected Prime Minister, had to do deals with Oakshot, Windsor et al, to form a government. FORM...not ELECTED Fake PM

Honk

😂😂😂😂

What a disgusting speech that was

What about the whistle from the start of Skippy? Surely that has to be up there?

Coup Time by MC Hammer

I only remember her for this and that she always reminds me of Kath (in Kath & Kim)

Misogyny cannot exist anymore, sorry ABC.

amazing that the gillard speech was taken so seriously by the gutter media

So Gillard deflecting the MISOGYNY in her own govt... Shorten and Kathy Sheriff, Thomson, supporting Peter Slipper

this was a pivotal moment for australia

Can we all say Misandry!

Great speech. Too bad it was directed at the wrong target. Remember her speech was in defence of Peter Slipper - a gay man who had been found to make disgusting comments about female genitalia.

We're fucked.

The shrill rant of a buttblasted feminist is a very unattractive sound. Also: mere opportunistic partisan propaganda.

Ahhh. So the sounds of Abbott munching on raw onions didn't make it. So sad.

Really?
