‘Parks and Recreation’ actress Helen Slayton-Hughes dead aged 92

Her family’s statement said: “Helen passed away last night. Her pain has ended but her fierce spirit lives on.Helen, survived by four children and six grandchildren, was married for years but never publicly revealed her husband’s identity. She made her final public appearance on Oct. 8 when she attended a screening of comedy horror, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, in which she played her final role of a character called Victoria.

Helen’s career spanned more than 40 years and she appeared in more than 200 theatre productions and musicals. Her TV break came when she was cast in two episodes of Nash Bridges in 1996, before becoming best-known for her roles in Arrested Development, My Name Is Earl, Desperate Housewives and New Girl.
