NEW YORK — “Top Gun: Maverick,” 2022′s biggest box-office hit, has been named the best film of the year by the National Board of Review.a long-running organization comprised of film enthusiasts and academics
, has no overlap or correlation to other awards bodies, the win adds to the awards-season tailwinds for “Top Gun: Maverick” as not just a $1.5 billion worldwide smash but a legitimate Academy Awards contender. On Thursday, the Producers Guild Awards also announced that “Top Gun” star The National Board of Review, which announced its picks Thursday, additionally awarded best cinematography to Claudio Miranda for the “Top Gun” sequel.
Boring as fuck not news
We love Boards. It must be the best!
Who’s on the national board of review? 3 dudes who love call of duty and Tom cruise’s parents?
Uahahaha
omg….good summer flick but hardly film of the year….
Deserved best movie of the year by far
A great Tom cruise movie 😂 no such thing
If this fine piece of cinema doesn't win Best Picture at the 2023 Oscars, the award has no meaning.
that Darkstar was never delivered to me did you know? it was supposed to come with my founder's gear and admin interfaces for everything, and that electromagnetic flying motorcycle and what I ordered in all those letters and emails. gearOS admininterface followthewhiterabbit
I’m no fan of Tom Cruise (because he’s still playing the same role since Risky Business), but I liked it. The cinematography of the mostly live BACM is worth it especially if you’re a movie buff, cinematographer, videographer, photographer or just a plane spotting nerd.
This movie was awful. The same gd plot as the fist. . . 'The best movie ever made' I heard once.. pathetic. . Can't believe I paid for this turd. Even worse Its stuck in my Amazon Library. Embarrassing.
All these “no’s” gives this place a hipster vibe. Not just any hipster, but a Portlanderp Lumbersexual sorta hipster who insists neither they nor their secondhand Pendleton needs to be washed or deodorized. It does. They do too.
did they watch the movie?
What I would love to see, is demonstrators outside of every movie opening where Tom Cruise is in attendance. Shouting “where is Shelley Miscavage?! “Cruise you are the de facto head of a massive cult! People are suffering all around the world, because of you, Tom Cruise criminal!
RedStateBlues_ Too bad it stars Tom Cruise so I will never see it.
robertpurfield wouldn’t agree
It wasn't, it really wasn't.
HIGHWAY TO THE BUTTHURT ZONE!
MairiLicious7 Sorry; it truly sucked.
Am I missing something. The movie seemed boring to me.
Didn't even finish it. Was very meh
I feel like I might be living in Idiocracy reading this
Best movie by far, for the simple fact that the leading role was not killed off, side-lined or replaced by a young woman who's supposed to be so much better or skilled at flying than the main character.
This is a joke, right?
Did they not see Everything Everywhere All At Once? There is no other option for best movie of 2022. PERIOD.
Movie snobs will no doubt disagree (and some days I am one of them), but it was the best movie I saw in the theatre this year - and it was made to experience in a theatre….not your phone. But the year is not over - it will be topped by Avatar: The Way of Water.
Many people told me that this Is a great movie, but i Simply cannot stand the way Tom Cruise acts. I think he's terrible.
The movie was not so good but the director definitely deserves it for his other works, like Oblivion, which was one of the most underrated movies.
And with no woke nonsense, surely not!
the plane bits were great....but seriously the dreadful dwarf cruise is cringeworthy
But nowhere in the old grey hatey lady
Lol no
It was okay.
Sure, why not. The rest of this year's movies are all about box checking.
Are you freaking serious?
TIME mag are 🤡 's
Just because people will pay to see anything today doesn't mean it's the best by any means. Society has accepted lesser than with everything....quality has declined and you an see that with any of thee streaming shows. People want to be distracted from life.
Maybe the major studios stop thinking Marvel and Super hero movies are entertaining.
Everything, Everywhere all at once was the best movie by far.
No.
Nope. Pass on anything that pays Scientologists. No regrets.
Which was better:
I love to complain about things, but to me it was a universally great movie. So, so good.
So proud of u TomCruise
have they seen it
Really. The sequel to Reagan recruiting propaganda. Screw that. I’ll go with Triangle of Sadness.
V Great film,
Wow! A movie that was trying to be good instead of preachy and woke ends up making money and being universally enjoyed…who would have thought?
