‘Incredibly disrespectful’: Noel Pearson’s comments about Jacinta Price were ‘over the top’

Mr Pearson accused Ms Price on ABC radio of being trapped in a “redneck celebrity vortex” and being used by right-wing think tanks to “punch down on black fellas”.

Ms Price has since responded, stating, “I have been confronted with Aboriginal male bullies on a number of occasions. This is nothing new to me”. “I re-listened to Noel Pearson’s comments – that was absolutely over the top,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia. “The way he spoke about the National Party, the way the National Party came to our decision and the way he spoke about our own Senator, I thought, was incredibly disrespectful and not the way a leader should conduct themselves in a public debate as important as the debate over the Voice and the referendum will be.”
