The Public Order Emergency Commission is continuing its “policy” phase hearings today. It will hear testimony from 10 expert witnesses, split into two panels. The first panel will focus on “misinformation, disinformation, and the role of social media.” The second will tackle “the protection of flows of essential goods and services, critical infrastructure and trade corridors.” The purpose of these panels, according to a press release from Commissioner PAUL ROULEAU, is to provide input that will help Rouleau to put together a set of recommendations for improving the existing Emergencies Act. Species report on the way At 1 p.m. the government will hold a press conference about its new report on species. Unlike the 1990s B movie that bore that name, today’s event will not portray sexually-charged, murderous escapades, as depicted by Canadian actress NATASHA HENSTRIDGE.
