Few things are more heartbreaking than the death of a newborn. This tragic occurrence used to be much more common in our society than it is today. In large part thanks to medical innovation, the infant mortality rate has improved by 54% since 1980,It’s easy to get caught up in the negative headlines and start to despair or feel like things are constantly getting worse. Yet this isn’t actually the case.
But we can rise above this instinct. This Thanksgiving, don’t just be grateful for your friends and family, as important as that may be. You should also celebrate the many ways in which our country is improving.

brad_polumbo When we see actual improvements occurring then we will have something to be thankful for. Until then, we should at least be thankful we still have a constitution.
