In a recent interview, Leguizamo discussed his memories of drunk Clevelanders and why being cast in “The Menu” made him question his current Hollywood standing.

Opening in theaters on Friday, “The Menu” is focused on an exclusive dining experience that finds privileged patrons the subject of Chef Julian Slowik’s menu. No, this isn’t the new cannibalism movie .Directed by Mark Mylod, the black comedy/horror film features Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult and John Leguizamo.

It was a blast but there was a lot of history and facts. At like three hours long, people were so wasted at the end they had to be carried out. They were like, “Oh my God, this was so informative.” Glug, glug, glug.I loved the fact it’s such an intelligent movie. It’s black humor -- a little dryer, a little more real. Less jokey, even though this film is super funny. It’s really a thriller and we sucker you in with beautiful food and poetry about food.
