I have issues regarding your position. The first is with “several sources of federal funding.” Do you feel that federal dollars are free or do the taxpayers provide the funds? I agree that honest discourse about the reality of our global energy needs is necessary. So I’m surprised that Hegar, Texas comptroller of public accounts, did not address the financial, environmental and societal costs of fossil fuel emissions, which are causing an unstable climate that can destroy our economy, cause deaths of several million people annually worldwide and cause great harm to those of us who are the most vulnerable.
