The 50th annual American Music Awards are taking place this weekend at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, where many of our favorite groundbreaking artists will soon be honored.
For this year's ceremony, which is hosted by television personality Wayne Brady, Bad Bunny has been projected to take home the most awards, leading the pack of nominees with eight total nods, including those for Artist of the Year, Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Male Pop Artist, and Favorite Male Latin Artist. These potential wins will come shortly after the rapper also
this week for being the first-ever Spanish artist to receive an Album of the Year nomination, thanks to his all-Spanish project,also made history earlier this week—received a total of six AMA nominations: Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Pop and R&B Artist, Favorite R&B Song, and Favorite Pop and R&B Album. She's tied in nominations with Taylor Swift and Drake, both of whom received their own nods for Artist of the Year.
The ceremony will feature live performances from artists including Carrie Underwood, Yola, Anitta, David Guetta, Bebe Rexha, Imagine Dragons. P!nk will also be returning to the AMAs stage to dedicate a performance to the late artist Olivia Newton-John, who passed away earlier this year after a long battle with breast cancer.
The occasion will also see big newcomers Jack Harlow, BLACKPINK and Latto—all of whom are first-time nominees—hit the spotlight, and of course, many memorable red carpet looks.The event will be aired live on ABC, where you can view in real-time with cable television.
