Musician Simon James has a decorated career in theatre, music and acting, and many would recognise him from his stellar childhood pursuits on screen.
Simon was just a kid when he took on the role, and says that while he was not aware of how huge and popular the show was when he began filming, the magnitude soon dawned on him when he was unable to go anywhere in the country without being recognised. At that particular time, there were probably very few places in Ireland I would ever go without someone saying ‘that’s yer man there from Fair City.’ It was surreal, but I loved it so I didn’t mind.”
The pair kept in touch following the show, with Simon showing support for her highly successful ventures as an author, but after making the move away from Fair City, music began to become much more prominent in his life.
