it was the process of coming of age through the lens of a young Black male character on television that also helped him to grow up in his personal life. “I think he’s done a lot for me and for a lot of young Black men to be able to see a character like Junior who mirrors them and their personality,” he told McNab. “With Junior, I was so fortunate to be able to grow up with the character. We kind of mirrored each other age-wise, and it’s been crazy watching him make his life decisions.

While the 30-minute discussion was overall insightful, it was, perhaps, impactful words from Molino that really showed that audience members don’t have to be on a popular television show to make an impact. “It can be on a smaller scale. You guys are probably very impactful to the people around you, the people you go to school with, your friends, family that maybe don’t have the same views as you,” she said. “I think that’s powerful, too.

Even if attendees aren’t TV stars, they still got to feel the magic of being one, if only for a few moments. Throughout Summit, Teen Vogue and Freeform created an installation that allowed the actors and their fans to transform into cover stars for a fun photo op.
