There were two New York clubs I could always go to by myself: Studio 54 and Heartbreak. There are many photographs of me taken on one of my favorite nights of dancing ever at Studio. I’m wearing old jeans, suspenders, a Henley, and a cowboy hat. I was also wearing springolators, though I imagine most of you reading this won’t know what those are: backless mules with an elastic insert that keep your feet in. Perfect for a night of dancing.
I don‘t dance. I kind of laugh at people who do.
