As they near the final frontier, there’s apparently still some scores to settle between the castmates of the original Star Trek television and film franchises. Speaking to The Times of London…

for an interview that ran Friday, William Shatner, who played Captain James T. Kirk on TV and in seven films, gave a few jabs back at one of the people he worked with on those projects.Related Story

Sam Mendes Pays Tribute To Conrad Hall & Roger Deakins At Camerimage Opening Ceremony: "Cinematographers Have Always Been My Guide" “Sixty years after some incident, they are still on that track. Don’t you think that’s a little weird? It’s like a sickness,” he said of the criticism. “I began to understand that they were doing it for publicity.”

George Takei was simply the latest. The actor, who played Sulu in the shows, claimed Shatner’s 2021 trip on Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin rocket was done to have a “guinea pig” to assess the impact of space on an “unfit” man. “George [Takei] has never stopped blackening my name” Shatner said. “These people are bitter and embittered. I have run out of patience with them. Why give credence to people consumed by envy and hate?”

Jurou, mô.

He is so right GeorgeTakei is a jealous, petty little putz.

It’s fucked up we lost Nimoy before him. What a rip off. The good ones keep dying and yet this sack of flesh continues on. It sucks.

I mean... they kind of have reason to be.

Gave it a click, saw George Takei’s name. Clicked out. George Takei is the quintessence of entitled and mean spirited Hollywood twatter. Takei once applauded a child turning in his father to authorities based on suspicions the father was at the January 4th riot.

Whoa. Bitter and embittered?! That's a big deal

So what if WilliamShatner doesn't like signing autographs. In this day and age of ID thieves and forgers, I don't blame him for that. As for any narcissistic treatment of his fans, though pitiable, he's on his own.

Probably some truth to that.

Love Shatner. Don't say nothing bad about him. He's a national treasure.

He’s going to outlive the entire cast just so he can spin the narrative that he wasn’t the pain on ass on set, it was everyone else.

Bit redundant to say bitter and embittered.

Who is left besides Takei? Why 'these people?' Isn't everyone else from Star Trek dead that has said bad things about him? Or who am I forgetting?

One of the first Trek Cons I ever went to had Shatner at it. He got on stage and talked about his horses for a half hour. I never thought I'd be wandering around looking at vendor tables because the guest of honor was so uninteresting.

Back in the early 2000s, Walter Koenig was a guest on Shatner's Raw Nerve talk show and told him exactly why the supporting cast didn't like him. Unfortunately, the interview appears to have been deleted from YouTube. Shatner also somehow pissed off Leonard Nimoy.

one time at a convention I was in line to meet someone else and my mom mentioned shatner was there. I was unimpressed cause of some unfortunate online interactions and said I’d heard he was an asshole. Girl behind me laughed immediately and said she had definitely heard that b4

lol, Shatner is such a turd.

At Least William Shatner had a TV Career, Period. Except for him in the 1960s And apart from DeForest Kelley who had supporting roles since the 1950s on TV and in Film , everyone else in the Original Star Trek Cast were just absolute Nobody's who didn't have acting careers .

If it was just one person, then he'd be right. But more than one person has criticized his behavior over the years & not just his fellow cast mates. This is old news.

My beef with Shat goes back to a ST con in Atlanta in 1978. It was GOH, people excited to get autographs. Once there, he announced he would only sign copies of his record. No problem thought most as they brought their copies with them to be signed.

Why is the internet trying to cancel a 90-something-year-old immigrant who was forced to hide his Jewish heritage and body shamed into starving himself while trying to survive in Hollywood? I’d be mean too if was constantly hungry and paranoid about antisemitism.

Eh, Shatner's gonna Shatner. Love the guy, but what really would be news is if he reflected on his actions and apologized for Shatnering all over people throughout his life.

I was on student committee that brought performers to our uni in the 70's. - We paid to have Shatner at ASU. He was so full of himself w/his really weird (non-star-trek) performance and hated, hated it if anyone brought up Star Trek...which was only reason he was there. Awful

FACT: Shatner used to get scripts and count his lines to make sure he had more than any of the other actors.

I’ve been reading Trek cast memoirs written in the 70s and 80s and they’ve all had issues with Shatner lol
