The Ellis Family Band with Down with Darby takes the stage Nov. 5, 7:30 p.m., at the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts Centre, 619 Water St. East, Summerside.and Hospice P.E.I. is Nov. 6, 1 p.m., at The Alambe Cafe, 119 Kent St., Charlottetown. Music is by The Montgomerys and Frederick Duong.

William Prince: Until We Meet Again is Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m., in the Sobey Family Theatre of Confederation Centre of the Arts. For tickets, contact the box office. Dance to live bands every Saturday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., at the Charlottetown Legion, 99 Pownal St., Charlottetown. On Nov. 5, music will be provided by Wrecking Crew. All are welcome.

Comedian Derek Edwards brings his In Praise of the Ostrich show to the Sobey Family Theatre of Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown on Nov. 4, 7:30 p.m. Contact the box office. The first edition of the Charlottetown Zine Fest is in the Rotary Auditorium at the Charlottetown Library and Learning Centre, Nov. 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CZF is a celebration of DIY publishing and a one-day tabling fair for zine makers, small presses, artists, and all types of independent authors. Stop by to browse and buy unique publications from dozens of participants. This event is public and free to. Masks are strongly encouraged.

Best-selling Canadian author Karen Forrest will be hosting a free public lecture at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre on Nov. 10. - ContributedSt. Dunstan’s University board of governors, in co-operation with the University of Prince Edward Island, presents a public lecture by author and historian Gwynne Dyer entitled Planetary Maintenance Engineers – A Last Ditch Climate Rescue Strategy, Nov. 3, 7 p.m., in the Duffy Science Centre on the UPEI campus. Everyone is welcome.
