Christmas light switch on event taking place this weekend

The Grand on Lord Street will be turned into a magical focal point with over 15,000 twinkling lights, 6,000 baubles and garlands galore. The event will take place on Sunday, November 6 at 5.30pm.

The free event will include an evening of entertainment aimed at getting visitors into the festive spirit. Radio presenter Claire Simmonsen will host the switch on, with live music from The Haydock Brass Band and a local choir. There will also be warming mulled wine and mince pies to enjoy once inside.

"I want to give the people of Southport something to really look forward to and hope that The Grand will feature in their plans. We want families and friends alike to join us for what will be a wonderful occasion."
