While many are excited about the night - others are living in fear

Renowned for its fun and spectacle, for many Bonfire Night can be one of the most exciting nights in the Autumnal calendar.

The figures obtained by our FOI request goes hand-in-hand with advice issued by Lancashire Constabulary. As part of the force's campaign to educate young people on antisocial behaviour and criminality, the force shared footage from last year's bonfire night. "Although residents will see a number of disturbing images in the video, we want to reassure you that we have taken appropriate action and those involved have been arrested and dealt with. Last year, we identified and arrested several offenders and took the appropriate action, bringing them into custody, interviewing them and deciding appropriate outcomes with partner agencies such as the Youth Offending Team.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service responded to a total of 140 incidents in Lancashire on Bonfire Night last year. Thankfully, none were for serious injuries. Kirsty McCreesh, Group Manager for Prevention at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, says: “At Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, we want everyone to enjoy Bonfire Night but also be safe. We recommend you go to an organised display to enjoy a bonfire and firework display this year.
