The film, which features Disney's first plus-size female protagonist, has garnered praise from social media users for encouraging body positivity.

In an introduction that is shown prior to the film,"Reflect" director Hillary Bradfield said the idea behind the short started when she first began thinking about her own body philosophy.

"I feel like I'm a very body-positive person in principle, but when it's on a personal level, it's a lot harder to be body-positive," Bradfield said. In the film, Bianca is seen practicing ballet in front of a mirror. As she is reflected, the mirror image breaks, and the animation shows her confidence wane. Eventually, however, she is able to use her ballet skills to overcome her negative feelings.

"I just watched reflect on Disney+ and it portrays body positivity and exactly how I felt as a child," another Twitter user wrote. I just watched reflect on Disney+ and it portrays body positivity and exactly how I felt as a child and now so well god I hate how I look but watching this can help me understand it’ll be okay to just be myself

WeLoveCaraDune was first.

Why are fighting this, let them eat themselves to deaths

Oh the armchair dietitian trolls are having a field day

Was Ogre Fiona not plus sized?

Show us the fourth sequel.

Disney is a den of pedoohs and degerenates

How is “body positivity” embracing obesity? It should be embracing eating healthy, being active, sleeping well and enjoying a healthy lifestyle without limits. Sorry, being overweight isn’t remotely happiness;it’s pure denial.

I feel sorry for her toes.

Can we anticipate forthcoming efforts to promote diabetes/heart disease positivity? Weight loss is a tough battle for many, but it can bring about so many health benefits. Crap like this is why people hate the MSM.

Not promoting healthy children anymore? Why?

I'm here for it❤️❤️. People come in all sizes, colors, shapes, abilities. It's PAST time for the world to recognize & accept that very fact. Not doing it is exactly why we're in this collective shit storm now(still)

Being overweight is not healthy.

SoBrave

Another angle on population reduction.

disney the rat, grooms the kids for the un natural and disordered

The chick from Frozen had a fat face

...... why glorify obesity

Being obese ballet dancer is horrible for your joints. She will just get injured and become morbidly obese. Start with walking and swimming if you want to get in ballet shape.

Niloofar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi, the journalists who reported the death and funeral of Mahsa Amini, are accused of working for the U.S. and charged with espionage; a crime that leads to death penalty.Without them the revolution wouldn't take place!Be their voice! MahsaAmini

Try harder to promote this cbs 😂

Do y'all keep reporting this to create controversy and generate clicks? It's a boring ass short that nobody would otherwise care about.

Less donuts more lunges.

It's probably because she eats more calories than she needs. Science.

Kinda looks like the girl on Daybyday on YouTube...

Teaching 'Bianca' (white girl) better nutrition would have been time better spent.

CBS News-- I'm guessing you'll post this 20 more times as is your custom.

She probably struggles because she's so fat.

pandering to the snack asses

This is trash: we are not all the same and we need to understand out limit. Pushing the idea we all the same it is wrong

Bianca-I struggle with my body but I love pizza, chips, fries, burgers, all you can eat buffets, hotdogs and sometimes I just eat a loaf of bread The public- Aw she struggles :(

💩 Walt Disney must be rolling over in his grave. How can the put such 💩 out now a days. People do not want this image for their children to see.

Brooooo I wanna eat so much food

Disney fucking sucks ....

Ballet dancers are typically not plump.

You’d think Ballet would be a great way to burn calories.

Man, the news media just loves this story. I wonder why?

Enough!!!!!! The moralists can’t stop!! Please stop. We don’t need to be told what to think about obese children or made to be felt like racists. Enough

Not fat, not overweight, just unhealthy. Whether you like it or not, it's true. Some truths are truths for everyone.

does the story end with her meeting a handsome prince and magically transforming into a skinny ballerina while dancing in his arms?

Parents job is to discipline kids on diet so it doesn't blow up later

lizzydances_

She is not struggling from her body image. She is struggling from her body weight. Why you all get offended from the truth.? The King is naked!

keep telling them that they're weak. It's the most certain path to subjugation.

Not hating yourself is fine, but I hope the goal of the movie is to better themselves in fitness.Being overweight is not healthy, will cut your life shorter and Will lead to many ailments.Making fun of someone won't help, but saying they are perfect the way they are won't either.

This is disgusting. We should not be normalizing childhood obesity.

Disney, you are killing your future market. If body positivity comes at the expense of healthy lifestyle choices, our graveyards will be filled with young adults who died feeling good about themselves.

Our Progressive plan to trick every Woman into believing being Fat, Hairy and Smelly is Empowering is working. Also, pushing them to Hate Men. We have to control the Population by making sure Men and Women aren't attracted to each other no more.

This is encouraging junk food & illnesses

Obesity a problem in our country there is nothing positive about being overweight I would know because I'm overweight.

That's not body positivity, that's heart attack positivity.

Body positivity? They're crazy!!! Obesity is a complex disease.

When the media says 'Praise' on social media usually means they found 1 tweet (they wrote it themselves)

gross

Childhood obesity is not OK

aschapire

Heh who’s the fat chick?

You spelled childhood obesity wrong...

'Praise' on social media....🤔

Stop encouraging obesity.

So supporting poor health is good now?

They did a cartoon because real fat ballerinas get broken toes

Evil

There is nothing positive about being overweight. They poisoned our kids and made them fat with drugs like anti depressants. Now they want to tell us to be positive about the poisoning. You people are sick.

It’s not beautiful. It’s not courageous. It’s not bold. It’s unhealthy. It’s unattractive. It’s child endangerment. Stop pretending fat chicks are hot. 🤡🇺🇸🖕🏻

what is positive about being plus size, especially for a child

Just because you say so doesn’t make it true.

🙄

Being fat isn’t heathy. Period.

Should be focusing on success not just fitting in. Mediocre message creates mediocre results. But hey at least everybody else feels better about their virtues in life.

Gluttony is not healthy.

Americans have always loved television characters that have been overweight Chris Farley, etc. But this body positivity political movement defending fatness as an oppressed group is wrong. Fatness itself is the true oppressor and the king of death and disability in this country.

Body positivity probably shouldn't go hand in hand with health negativity.

Pass. Normalizing obesity is not healthy.

Wooo 'garnered praise from social media users,' how compelling.

I see far more ridicule than praise on social media.

What a load of horse💩. Stop encouraging unhealthy lifestyles. Obesity, transgenderism, drugs (“vaccines”). They all shorten lifespans. TRUTH.

Children DO NOT FEED THEMSELVES. Blame the people that feed her if you so desperately need to beat up someone.

Fat is healthy. Thanks CBS

Wow. Bad health is being glorified. We truly are in a fallen civilization

Obesity is not body positivity Fuck.. the doctors say being overweight is bad to health.. every time I go tey say that. Seems that Disney does not belive in science.

Normalizing obesity...

It's not OK to be fat.

The only thing you’re positive for is diabetes

Obesity is extremely unhealthy and Disney should be torched for promoting it. If you're a big fat fuck here's a dose of reality for you: you're hideously unattractive and are going to die young. Exercise and stop fucking eating so much.

when everyone is fat, body positivity is simply nothing more than a euphemism for we look like shi* so let’s switch it around and attack the other side.👏👏👏 also all your customers are fat so you alienate with normal (and much healthier, the most important thing) people.🤦‍♂️

Obesity should not be encouraged or glorified.

It has also garnered criticism for encouraging an unhealthy lifestyle. But by all means, go on with your narrative.

This is not a good thing, obviously not everyone can be built like a fitness model but we have huge problem with childhood obesity in this country. Body positivity has become a celebration of obesity and it harms children

This is reality. Girls get treated so bad for their weight... It is sad to watch...But we can rally around her...

No he has done so much more...
