'Simply wrong': British government slams TrevorNoah's claims of racism against Rishi Sunak

Former Health Secretary Sajid Javid claimed Noah's comments that aired Wednesday were"simply wrong" and"detached from reality," rejecting the notion that the United Kingdom was prejudiced against minorities. A spokesman for the prime minister also confirmed Sunak does not believe that the U.K. is racist."Simply wrong. A narrative catered to his audience, at a cost of being completely detached from reality," Javid tweeted.

Britain is the most successful multiracial democracy on earth and proud of this historic achievement. https://t.co/D6k8IUZx0INoah insinuated that the U.K. was racist because of the racial dialogue he apparently heard about surrounding Sunak becoming prime minister. Sunak is the country's first Hindu and minority prime minister.

Sunak became the country's third prime minister since its last election following former Liz Truss's resignation after 45 days in office. At the age of 42, Sunak is the youngest prime minister in the United Kingdom in over 200 years.
