In the call, Watson said he was “happy to call them out,” if the province continued to drag its feet, but said that would be easier if the federal government was making clear commitments. Watson testified that beyond the meetings the province was slow to offer more OPP resources to the city to help control the protests. He said both levels of government eventually came forward with the resources, but only after residents endured weeks of “hell.”
