First gracing our screens in 1966, Glen Michael’s Cartoon Cavalcade continued on for 26 years - until it was finally replaced in the early ‘90s.
The end finally came in 1991, with one last New Year special broadcast on January 1. Glen retired from television, and began touring schools with a set in the ‘00s. Sign up to our Glasgow Live nostalgia newsletters for more local history and heritage content straight to your inbox
Is it a false memory or is that lamp a magic lamp?
Not only do I remember him, I won a Spacehopper race in Dunoon outdoor arena in the 60's that he was hosting. You young ones might need to Google Spacehopper.
For some reason I still have a vivid memory of Glenn having to gently explain to upset viewers that they couldn’t show any more episodes of Casper The Friendly Ghost because no more had been made.
Was horrible to me when I met him as a kid
Glen is a great guy…he did a couple of shows for the school I was working in in the late nineties…he had the kids (and adults) captivated….some of the happiest times we had…met him at the Pavilion some years later and he still remembered us!
