'I don't need to watch it. I lived it,' Rita Isbell, the sister of Dahmer victim Errol Lindsey, wrote in an Insider essay. 'Netflix should've asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn't ask me anything. They just did it.'

"We have become consumed by entertainment from horror and crime, which has been culturally and socially accepted for decades. But what seems to be happening now is we consume it so regularly, we don't consider the 'true' in true crime. We don't consider the real impact these crimes had and continue to have," saysTherein lies the problem, trauma experts warn: We've become so enamored with gossiping about these cases, we've tossed aside all empathy.

“This is not a podcast for me. This is real life,” her brother, Young Lee, said during a recent hearing. THEY WERENT RETRAUMATIZED, CUZ THEY WERE NOT FORCED TO WATCH IT AND DONT NEED TO WATCH!! THEY'RE JUST MAD THAT THEY WERENT PAID FOR THEIR STORIES WHICH THEY NEVER HAD TO BE!!! WHERE WAS THEIR OUTRAGE FOR THE 2017 MOVIE? OH WAIT, THEY DIDNT GIVE A FCK CUZ IT DIDNT MAKE MILLIONS!

One of the reasons I'm not watching it.

Money and greed rules, so executives' actions and decisions are based on our greatest evils, and it's more than likely that with those priorities, that the worst people were put into those executive position.

Why did Netflix need to get permission? Don't like it? Don't watch it.

profit off suffering

'...should have asked' = 'Should have paid us'

as someone who's old as dirt - and was far, far too close to tallahassee when bundy was targeting young women there ... i don't get the fascination with these killers.

I mean movies and shows like this have been made for years. Now all of a sudden Netflix is the bad guy?

I can’t watch it

Netflix has become in something horrible

I’m sorry what you and other families had gone. To be truth, I learned a lot more by watching it because I’m disgusted by how the police handled it. It’s SO white privilege. I’ll support you over police!

So sad that the families have to endure this pain and have others profit from it. Legal doesn’t mean it’s right.

Tragic that family has to re-live this, TRAGIC that $$ being made on evil, tragic that this might encourage more evil imNOTwatching

Why they should ask you?

Hey, after years of trump and day to day MAGAt exposure, I watch serial killers because they are a better class of people and a damn site nicer than all those deplorable beings

They have no say on a publicly known and available story of interest. Where are they getting the idea their input was required?
