A new M. Night Shyamalan movie is coming to theaters in two years, as Universal gives the untitled thriller a 2024 release date. Thanks to his twisted directorial breakout movie in The Sixth Sense, expectations have always been high for what Shyamalan movie twist would come next. After originally managing to live up to these expectations mostly, his career became a bit shakier after a rough patch that included The Happening, The Last Airbender, and After Earth.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY On top of working on his Apple TV+ original show Servant, the director has been working closely with Universal Pictures in recent years to bring new movies to theaters. This included striking a deal with Universal to release two new movies by 2023. The first film from this deal became 2021's Old, which was delayed heavily due to COVID-19.
M. Night Shyamalan's New Thriller Is A Good Sign For Knock At The Cabin There might not be many details known about Shyamalan's new movie, but it appears to be a good sign for Knock at the Cabin. Universal's two-picture deal with Shyamalan came to an end with Knock at the Cabin, so they did not have to extend the partnership with another movie. That hopefully means that giving the new movie a release date is a sign of confidence from Universal in Knock at the Cabin's quality.
If the first Knock at the Cabin trailer is any indication, Shyamalan could be on the verge of once again showing Hollywood and audiences what type of horror movies he can deliver. This would allow Shyamalan's career renaissance to get back on track. After delivering well-received thrillers in The Visit and Split, his last two movies were not met with as positive a reception.
Sad news for the film industry today. m Night is still making movies 💀
