Black sometimes slips into a small roar in his performance, which helps Bowser sound less like him putting on a character and more like he’s slipping into an alter ego. It’s funny, because you could make the argument that this still kinda sounds like Jack Black, and that’s exactly what everyone is complaining about when it comes to Chris Pratt as Mario.
When I watch this movie, it’s going to be entirely about getting to see Jack Black in his full, unadulterated glory.
Not perfect has to be deeper...but obviously better than Chris Pratt
I think it's because Jack Black has more experience as a VA. I mean, I can't think of any VA that Pratt has done.

I dont like Pratt. I think his mario from the trailer is fine. I love jack black. I dont think I like his bowser. I feel like a lot of opinions about this have been based on personal bias.

Chris Pratt was great in Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy but since he has become a generic action star with sub par acting and successful enough he doesn't have to try hard for a voice role, the name alone sells also he's a closeted fundamentalist Christian 🤣🤮
I would of preferred a deeper voice personally, like elba.
because he knows a thing or two about voice acting, unlike Pratt...
Cus jack black besides being charismatic put effort in the voice. Hell even his normal voice is good for characters just like in kung fu panda

I'm sure if jack black said he really enjoyed chris platt's mario... a large number of people would reconsider platt's mario, or simply give it more time to think about. personally i think i heard one or two full sentences by mario in the trailer, and the second one was good.
The jury is not out, and no, it isn't. The thing is like turning on a video and expecting to hear Clancy Brown and Kevin Conroy, but instead being aurally assaulted by Bobcat Goldthwait and Gilbert Gottfried.

Jack Black's performance first glance is ok, it's the later that for a 'Brooklyn Accent' sounds like ass.
Chris Pratt does not deserve the hate kotaku is peddling towards him. Bottom line is he’s good in movies
