'Female attention comes with the territory!'

Highland Radio presenter and rising star of the singing scene David James on his close bond and duetting with fellow Donegal man Daniel O’Donnell, getting support from his family, interacting with fans and his rise to fame in Ireland.

Daniel was playing a concert here in Letterkenny to celebrate 30 years of Highland Radio just before the pandemic hit. I’m a presenter with the station and I was also one of Daniel’s special guests for the show. When lockdown hit, Daniel started to call me on a regular basis to check in and see how I was doing and to give me some advice. The idea of a duet came up and we got Shunie Crampsey from Donegal to write us a song called Don’t Take The Good Times For Granted .

You say you were “up-and-coming” pre-pandemic, were you worried your music career could have ended in lockdown when touring stopped and venues closed?
