Harrisburg resident, Patricia Mae Reitzi created a Facebook group called 'Put Down The Guns' to fight against gun violence. Reitzi has many plans in the works for the online group, one of them includes creating a live show demonstrating the effects of gun violence and showcasing it to schools within Harrisburg.

Harrisburg resident Patricia Mae Reitzi said the coalition is for people who believe gun violence is out of control. She was in the audience recently at PennLive’s “Hear Their Voices” forum at the Nativity School in Harrisburg to hear from people who survived being shot.

She plans to bring awareness to the community by connecting with schools, churches, youth facilities, and even prisons. “I want to lead them in a different direction because the path they’re taking is either a tombstone or a jail cell and nobody wins from this,” she said. “And maybe doing this will give some of them a wakeup call to say look I don’t want to do this anymore,” she said.
