KYNGZ, a high-end entertainment venue and restaurant, was created by Anthony Pratt, from left, Roosevelt Walker and David Nathaniel, along with Martin Granberry and Larry Williams, not pictured.
The Lansing Village Board gave final approval for the business, its special use and liquor license Tuesday. Village administrator Dan Podgorski said KYNGZ will fill a large vacancy in the Landings Shopping Center and attract more customers and business to the area, generating additional sales tax for the village.
The group decided to open in Lansing because it’s a safe area located near a major highway, which means people from the south suburbs and northwest Indiana will be able to easily come for a night out, Pratt said.On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights there will be live performances, Pratt said. They know local performers through family and friends and in the community, Walker said.“We all combined and came up with the plan together,” Walker said.
