The broken-off wing of a wood carving installed just last year on the corner of Lakelse and Kalum in the downtown core has been quickly repaired.
Joerg Jung of JJ’s Wood Art, who carved the installation featuring two outspread eagle wings, repaired the wing yesterday as soon as it was recovered from the location and delivered to him.He suspects someone kicked it off.The installation, described as a piece of street art, is being called a conversation piece a well as one to be featured in photos with people.
Jung collaborated on the project with Amanda Hugon, Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art graduate and Indigenous artist. The installation was financed by the Terrace Downtown Improvement Area Society and unveiled in June 2021.
