And while Stefani wanted Montgomery to join her team, she also backed her husband, telling Montgomery to not pick Cabello over Shelton. “This is your career,” she said. “That man right there, this is what he loves.”“I thought was really different,” Cabello said. “But ultimately, old soul, he had to go with an older person.”
