During the pandemic, they added a small, endless pool and spa and built up decking in the backyard. The treehouse is for the children of friends, and there are also monkey bars and a slide. Bolted to the treehouse's tree is a platform for a projector to show movies at outdoor parties, something they hope they can resume in these waning days of the pandemic.
During this project and every other renovation in the home, the couple focused on what would be most appropriate — materials needed to always be true to the spirit of the home. Many were provided by artistic friends or family members, including tile around a hearth or in the kitchen's backsplash.
