Mork & Mindy, which launched the screen career of Robin Williams, was one of McRaven’s biggest successes
Following the creation of the short-lived Angie in 1979 with Marshall, classic sitcom Mork & Mindy ran from 1978 until 1982. It launched the careers of Williams and Pam Dawber, and was co-created by McRaven, Marshall and Joe Glauberg. In the show, Williams plays a wacky alien that comes to Earth to study its residents and the life of the human woman he boards with is never the same.
McRaven’s second big hit was Perfect Strangers, which started in 1986 and lasted eight seasons and 150 episodes.Following the same odd-couple vibe, Perfect Strangers was about a highly-strung and cynical American whose life is transformed when his naïve but good-natured cousin from the fictional island of Mypos comes to live with him in Chicago.
