this weekend. Or to San Diego State University’s home football game against the University of Toledo.
Temperatures will spike above normal Saturday and Sunday and become even higher on Monday and Tuesday as a high-pressure system from Texas spreads to California, says the National Weather Service. Forecasters say the air will be about 85 degrees both days at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, and things will seem much hotter as sunlight radiates off the runway and tarmac. On the upside, skies are expected to be mostly clear for the air show, which begins at 9:30 a.m. both days. The US Navy Blue Angels are scheduled to take flight at 2:58 p.m.
Similar temperatures are expected on Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley, where SDSU and Toledo will face off, starting at 12:30 p.m. Waves will reach 3 to 5 feet at favored spots on Saturday due to a swell that also will produce hazardous rip currents along most of the San Diego County coastline. Sea surface temperatures will be in the 67- to 70-degree range.
